A legal and documentation training was held in Oriamal, Madhya Pradesh, with 25-30 women, focusing on Adivasi Constitutional rights, the Forest Rights Act, and challenges in implementing forest claims. Discussions included eco-sensitive zones around Nauradehi sanctuary and concerns over potential evictions due to the merging of local sanctuaries into a tiger reserve.
A Legal Aid camp was organized by Misaal with Part III lawyers in Mustafabad, Delhi, offering legal advice to 9 families. Case details were recorded, and after the camp, the team spoke with girls from Misaal’s Talim Centre, discussing ways to protect themselves from harassment near their school.
Part III conducted a session on FIRs and the criminal justice system, covering the distinction between cognizable and non-cognizable offences, filing complaints, and handling police refusal. The participants shared real-life challenges, including harassment outside Gaddhe Wali school, highlighting the lack of police action and growing safety concerns for girls.
