About the Internship
We are seeking students to provide research assistance for ongoing projects at Part III, focusing on the response of the legal system to identity-based violence. We aim to engage 2-3 interns at a time for various projects. Interns are expected to commit to a duration of at least 1 month. Part III will work with interns to accommodate their academic schedules and commitments during this period.
Currently, the internship is offered in our offices in Delhi and Patna. We will also consider remote and hybrid applications. However, for the Patna office, there is a preference for in-person internships as it demands more field work.
Selected candidates will receive a modest honorarium for their contributions (up to rupees 5,000/-) and appropriate acknowledgment for academic writing upon the completion of the research project.
Desired qualification
This internship is intended mainly for students of law, sociology, governance and social work in Indian educational institutions. Students from other disciplines with keen interest in the area of work described above will also be considered.
We seek candidates who have strong research and writing skills. Familiarity with legal systems/public databases and knowledge of one Indian language are desirable.
Role and Responsibilities
The selected interns will be expected to complete the tasks assigned by their supervisor. These tasks may include, but are not limited to, legal research, drafting and filing RTIs, compiling and organizing responses from relevant state departments, and writing articles for external and internal publications.
Application procedure
Interested candidates can send their CV, Statement of Purpose (SoP) and one writing sample by filling out the form available below. In case of any technical difficulty, you may write to [email protected].
Shortlisted candidates may be asked to participate in an interview process.

Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis. Candidates are encouraged to apply 8 to 6 weeks in advance. Only successful candidates will be contacted, within 15 to 30 days from the date of application. PART III reserves the right to make an offer prior to the closing of the deadline.
PART III believes in equal opportunity for all and encourages people from all socio-economic realities to apply for this position. Preference will be given to candidates from disadvantaged communities.
